Unapologetic, Irreverent, and Deeply Personal
A Mad Fine Story
Mad Fine was founded by Sophie Flack in New York City in 2023 with a simple idea: what if the objects we usually keep hidden—like the things tucked inside medicine cabinets—were worn openly, as fine jewelry?
Flack launched the brand on Mother’s Day 2023 with designs inspired by abortion pills cast in solid gold. The pieces were intended to spark conversation around autonomy, healthcare, and the power of living more transparently. The debut collection benefited the National Network of Abortion Funds and was met with resounding enthusiasm, including recognition in The Strategist as one of Amanda Seyfried’s “Must Have” picks.
Mad Fine’s sophomore collection expanded that concept, featuring carved gemstones with an uncanny resemblance to widely prescribed mental health medications. A portion of proceeds from the collection supported Fountain House, whose mission is to end stigma and build community for people living with serious mental illness.
Since then, Mad Fine has grown to include collections exploring radical self-acceptance through humor, cultural commentary, and symbolic design. The diamond pavé “ADHD” Nameplate Necklace has appeared on Justin Theroux and Antoni Porowski in multiple glossies and on television.
At its core, Mad Fine blends traditional jewelry craftsmanship with an unapologetic perspective on modern life. Many pieces are designed as conversation starters—objects that transform private experiences into something visible and shared.
A portion of proceeds from select designs supports nonprofit organizations working in mission-aligned causes. As the brand grows, Mad Fine remains committed to its values, its sense of humor, and its belief that the things we’re often told to hide are sometimes the things most worth celebrating.
